Several Trojans honored for post-season awards
The Trinity Trojans finished their season a couple of weeks ago with a record of 7-14. It wasn't everything the Trojan faithful had hoped for after starting off 5-0, but key injuries and the inability of a young team to get over the hump prevailed down the stretch. Despite the fact of the struggles of Trinity down the stretch, several members would receive post-season honors. Brendan Thompson was named Team MVP, an award given to the member of the Trojan men's team who best exhibited the unwillingness and sacrifice of themself, in order for the better of the team. Jack Gerrick received the team's Most Improved Award. Coach Wallish would state, "The coaching staff felt, Jack did everything he could this year to improve his overall game. He controlled his game, worked at practice, and played exceptional defense this year in a great improvement over last season's efforts. Ryan McSweeney was a second-team all conference member this year and Senior Brian Sklandany was an honorable mention. Despite only playing in nine games this year, Brian was recognized for his hard work and gameplay where the Trojans would go 5-4. Drew Fecko would garner a host of awards. Drew took home the team-MVP award, first team all-NCL award, and was honorable All-State for Division III. These players were justified in receiving these awards, but none of their accomplishments could be possible without the help of each and ever member of the Trinity Trojan Men's Basketball family.

Trinity drops third straight (5-3); lose to warren JFK
January 9, 2012
The first game of 2012 wasn't what the Trojan faithful had hoped for as Trinity fell to Warren JFK . The Trojans led at the end of one by a score of 11-10, but a poor shooting first half and lack of energy was too tough to overcome. The Trojans used an early 4th quarter to rally back on the road, closing the gap to as a little as two points, but the Eagles of JFK held onto the lead they had built all night. The Trojans who still stand at a respectable record of 5-3, will play host to Holy Name on Friday night. In the past couple of years, this game has resulted in wins for both the Trojans and the Green Wave of Holy Name. This year should be just as competitive as before.
